Happy Heavenly Father's Day

For the gone but not forgotten.

Dads, we think will always be there but that will someday change

I never expected so young, it would be his funeral I'd have to arrange

So sorry for your loss and so many other condolences from loved ones and our friends

Trying to hold it together until this blasted day comes to one of its possible ends

Really not accepting that it was true, not accepting that he was gone

Always thinking that it would be him against cancer and that the battle would be won

Can't, before it happened, imagine seeing the world without him there

Trying to get over the grief and seeing him everywhere

In search of faith, I would not find in a world that had proven so cold as this

One more day I would not get, I would not get my wish

Never to be forgotten and always in our hearts, I try to be the man you were with each new day that starts

sad poetry
