It was ever calm,
The sky clear,
Her heart defenseless as he appeared.
Retched thoughts coursed throughout the minds of the trembling.
He could taste each drop of her fears upon his razored tongue,
As his mind switches to the lulled hum.
Cool droplets of screeches call out,
Screaming to fulfill the demon’s midnight of dreams.
Night owls purr as the grass begins to scream.
Quenching her ears with the profound humming of wooded branches twitching.
Ripening her untouched nerves,
The metallic taste of something near,
Only a heart,
Not her own,
Would then the monster appear.
Hot in the hollows of the tree’s lungs,
Mushrooms disobey the bloodied song.
Hush now for the sounds of cracked timber,
Their hearts were silenced before the whimper.
