Several years ago, I moved to an apartment that had a pond out the back with plenty of wildlife - ducks, geese, herons, frogs, and more. My two cats especially loved to watch the ducks. I wrote these haiku about their (and our) interactions. If you enjoy these, be sure to check out my profile for more haiku and other poems!

πŸ¦†

The quiet morning

Is broken by the soft tuts

Of li'l baby ducks.

πŸ¦†

Li'l ducks in the pond,

The cats are behind the window.

You are safe today.

πŸ¦†

Mother duck watches

As her babies splash and play.

And so do the cats.

πŸ¦†

Cat in the window

Looking out at the water,

Hoping to see ducks.

πŸ¦†

Every evening,

When the sun's low in the sky,

The ducks come calling.

πŸ¦†

Where have the ducks gone?

Have they already moved on?

All I see are geese.

A nice little window into a cute nature scene. Thanks. Hope those cats keep away from the l'il ducks but also the geese as they can be pretty savage!
