haiku august three
3rd week of august 2023 in haiku
every day i think
and if every day i do
one day it will be
. . . [8/14/23]
. . .
and what are her thoughts
all of us thinking of him
just more of the same
. . . [8/14/23]
. . .
a hook's gonna hook
no matter what sort of thing
could be your finger
. . . [8/14/23
. . .
if it can it will
and if it's hook like, it can
so - better to laugh
. . . [8/14/23]
. . .
everything feels wet
last night, eye mask, wow, my jeans
there's humidy
. . . [8/15/23]
. . .
woah, it's mid august
students are heading to school
i remember it
. . . [8/15/23]
. . .
this seems a bad view
though it just comes out this way
is it all made up
. . . [8/15/23]
. . .
look towards the sun
see the light for what it is
a big fucking star
. . . [8/15/23]
. . .
that's pretty crazy
but it's also just what it is
both are pretty wild
. . . [8/15/23]
. . .
so let's accept it
this life, this place, this space, this
try it this way now
. . . [8/15/23]
. . .
can you hear the trees
if you can haer them, listen
it's really quite nice
. . . [8/16/23]
. . .
this is this today
and tomorrow will be that
there's not more to it
. . . [8/16/23]
. . .
we make stuff of it
we have the power you know
so, what stuff to make
. . . [8/16/23]
. . .
i love the morning
when i've got time to just be
better to have it
. . . [8/17/23]
. . .
i'll swim on monday
i yearn to get that going
so, i just will do
. . . [8/17/23]
. . .
he's having bad days
and i'm here writing poems
what kind of daughter
. . . [8/19/23]
. . .
not a haiku:
this isn't play
and this isn't pretend
this is being
and i am really doing it.
. . . [8/19/23]
. . .
feeling like breakthrough
but i won't tell you on what
cart before the horse
. . . [8/19/23]
. . .
so i'll have ice cream
because that is important
to have things you like
. . . [8/19/23]
. . .
but i still must leave
we all must figure that out
leaving bad places
. . . [8/19/23]
. . .
and we figure out
the spaces between can't rot
we will make it work
. . . [8/19/23]
. . .
i didn't swim on monday - i traveled to see my dad on the 21st, he had been brought to the ER the night before and then admitted to the ICU with pnemonia and sepsis. he has other chronic conditions and it was scary. but i got there, and he made it through and is getting palliative care now and some home healthcare -- next week's haiku are the week i was there.
it was great that all of us were together - together with him and our mom.
