A Love Workout in Laughter

By Tale WeaverPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

In the early morning’s rosy glow,

We lace our shoes and off we go,

A duo on a fitness spree,

A playful pair, just you and me.

- - -

You start with strides, all full of grace,

I struggle just to match your pace,

With every step, my heart does race,

Yet I can't help but love this chase.

- - -

We hit the gym with weights in hand,

You lift with ease, a strength so grand,

I grunt and groan, my muscles plead,

But your laughter’s all the help I need.

- - -

The treadmill’s next, a test of speed,

You run like wind, my legs concede,

I huff and puff, a sight to see,

Yet in your eyes, there’s pride for me.

- - -

In yoga class, you bend and flow,

While I’m stuck like a rigid bow,

Your downward dog’s a perfect sight,

I wobble through with all my might.

- - -

We finish up with stretches long,

Our playlist blasts our favorite song,

You smile and wipe the sweat away,

“I’d do this with you every day.”

- - -

For in these moments, tired and spent,

I find my love, my heart’s content,

The Fitness Fumble Foxtrot’s tale,

Is one where love will never fail.

- - -

So here’s to every squat and run,

To workout woes and all the fun,

With you, my dear, I’ll always strive,

For in this journey, we feel alive.

- - -

Through every fumble, laugh, and cheer,

Our love grows stronger, year by year,

The Fitness Fumble Foxtrot dance,

A celebration of our romance.
