Goodbye
Photo by Jeffrey Blum on Unsplash

The snow is falling and the sky is gray

At last my world doesn’t feel this way

Finally accepting what has to be

shedding the old to discover me

Surprised how pain can cleanse the soul

Makes you weak to make you whole

To start again you must lose it all

Before you run you have to crawl

Truth is funny,

Perspective unclear

I guess i heard what I wanted to hear

you were right when you said black is black white is white

It Makes hiding the truth harder in the light

I read what I saw and you saw what I read

But perspective says it was all in my head

Its not what I thought, no,I shouldn’t have looked

You said what you said and you took what you took

The reasons don’t matter or who she might be

It’ll be over and you’ll have her and not me

Friends?

Who’s to say

Time goes on people change

Getting on knowing what, where why lies exchanged

Truth has a way of defining a path

We can’t recover or reclaim what we had

We know too much, those lines have been crossed

Things done cant be undone we are broken and lost

Take your blame I’ll take mine we can call it a wash

We loved and we lived it wasn’t all loss

I will remember that we were on fire for a time

But as with most good things lost, it will end with goodbye
