Gnome in the land of fairies

How good it is to be a gnome

In the land of fairies bright,

Where everyone knows your home,

And they know you’re a delight.

Not a bumbling, clumsy fellow,

But here among the flowers,

Many handsome gnomes, so mellow,

Yet you, unique in all the hours.

Your soul is stout and sturdy,

Like a fifteenth shoe size grand,

What’s needed, you’re ready, sturdy,

Like a heart, for example, so well planned.

You’re honest in your thinking,

In your actions, you excel,

No use for songs so sinking,

In despair, they do not dwell.

You don’t sigh with passion,

About the past in endless night,

You possess in fashion,

An inherited delight.

And afterward, a pot of rum,

Some mint, and sage so fine,

How wonderful it is to become

A gnome in this realm divine.
