Feeling eyes gaze in hidden shadows,
Wondering exactly what to expect,
Daydreams tease and caress the mind
Giving pleasurable images.
Graceful breezes of possibilities
Allow for patience to relax.
Time draws slowly on
Until the next moment for our eyes to meet.
A blink in the realms of time and happenstance.
How oft have we allowed ourselves to stare and smile
While society teaches other lessons.
Chiding the lies we tell ourselves
In order to feel safe and secure.
Letting go is a privilege some are not born with.
Old songs call the mind to simpler times.
Haunting stories echo in romances gone by.
Funny how at times
We do find ourselves in our own stories,
Whether they be destined for comedy
Or tragedy.
