How do you talk to the ghost of the unknown?
What to do when you’re alone in room full of people
It’s your personal rain cloud on a sunny day
Licking wounds and chewing scars to feel alive
Traveling everywhere
But you never arrive
A zombie parroting the living dead
Always expecting to expect nothing
Operantly conditioned to listen without listening
When the hissing drowns out all happiness
We scour for relevance
Selling emotional comfort by the hour
Fantastic phantasms drowning out the now
And yet
I persist somehow, someway
I rise to face a new day
