So, you were born between 1965-1980,

How was it though?

**************

Fine, great music!

Big hair!  Blame us for the holes in the ozone!

***************

How was it though?

***************

Fine, great music!

Caught between the nostalgia of the Boomers

And the team players of the Millennials,

We were the original latchkey kids.

Independent and free to roam.

We partied without evidence

Much of which is still sealed memories.

**************

How was it though?

**************

Fine, great music!

We perfected the eyeroll and deep sigh

Of not complaining.

We showed up without excuse even when unnoticed,

For jobs without pensions of the previous generation

Working for managers from the next.

***************

How was it though?

***************

Fine, great music!

Simpler times! We didn’t ask for help.

Really how else are you going to learn,

Sink or swim- No one is coming!

You are alone!

You are alone!

You are alone!

Did I mention the great music?
