The smell of a gardenia

Brings back memories of you

Your loving touch

Your gentle hugs

Your bustling ways

The smell of gardenia

Brings back memories of childhood

When times where simpler

When all I had to do was play

When I was cocooned in your love

The smell of gardenia

Transports me to a time that I sat at your lap

To a time that I was innocent

To a time that I was carefree

To a time that I was young

So I were the same perfume

That you wore back then, today

Bringing back the memories of you

So that you may never have to die

Come near, sit a spell, and listen to tales of old as I sit and rock by my fire. I'll serve you some cocoa and cookies as I tell you of the time long gone by when your Greats-greats once lived.

This is so so sweet and lovely. “When I was cocooned in your love” is a gorgeous line. And that ending was especially excellent.

  • This was so poignant and emotional. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
