Need the hold of arms on body,

Miss the tap of feet when pots and pans are in the sink,

Like the hugs that make me safe,

Want the feel of skin on skin.

Miss the grin on your face when you make a joke,

Like the way you beam at me when I have done my best on the turf,

Want more days of sun and sand, and time in the dark to stay up and talk,

Need you to know that I am here close by.

Like the calm when a long and loud day ends,

Want no tear from your eye but in joy,

Need the fan on when hot, and a foot out of bed to cool down,

Miss home with you, when far away from it.

Want the new and old, so let time pass,

Need a cup of tea to wake up from rest each morn,

Miss your step next to mine in the rain or on the run,

Like the idea of you and me as a team.
