STANZA 1

Any day now there will be a child

Brand new, except in my womb it did not grow.

Good or bad, we do not know what will be of this seed

We can only hope and welcome them into our family

Shower them with praise and love

Buildup their courage and self-esteem and hope one day it will be returned.

STANZA 2

Care for those who once cared for you is all that we asked in return.

For now, go run, go play, go be a child.

You may not know-how, you may never have felt it but I will show you love

As times goes on, the honor is truly mine to be able to watch you grow

How wide will it thicken? How much will it expand? Our family.

True happiness takes time. You first must plant a seed.

STANZA 3

fertilize with compassion this tender seed

Watch it sprout and reach for the sky, the soil it will never return

cheering you on will forever be your new family

Some bad things can happen when you are a child

Left untended these wounds can stunt your growth

yet will proper care and a whole bunch of love

STANZA 4

I’m sure you'll thrive and learn yourself how to love

When the time comes I will help you tend to your own seed

Together, parent and child, witnessing the grandchildren grow

Care for those who once cared for you is all that you ask in return.

For now, go run, go play, go be my grandchild.

I like how this looks, my almost family

STANZA 5

Blood does not mean family

What bonds us to each other is respect & love

Always love my child

You are a seed

Sprout and reach for the sky, the soil you will never return

Grow, grow, and again, grow.

STANZA 6

A cold winter may come but it’s followed by sping and again you will grow

cheering you on will forever be your new family

To the soil, you will never return

What bonds us to each other is respect & love

You are a seed

You are my child

TERCET

Children will grow.

planting their own seeds and adding to the family

Love, love and again love and never worry about being returned.
