FOR SANITY'S SAKE

My days attach to detached screens,

For sanity's sake, I need to breathe.

My sad heart races to the beat,

Of sirens racing down our street.

No delusions invade my space,

Mass confusion replaces grace.

My nights attach to detached screens,

For sanity's sake, I need to sleep.

World news becomes our daily fun,

The lies they've told have come undone.

I long for darkened skies to creep,

I yearn to wander in my dreams.

The world’s attached to detached screens,

For sanity’s sake, we must be freed!

I've searched the wide and tangled web,

I've bound my heart to soothe my head!

As chaos waits in empty streets,

The silence brings us to our knees.
