A release of emotions from an encounter today

Is asking a man to speak to you a certain way wrong?

Oh, it’s not…

Then why do they act so butthurt when you tell them not to call you beautiful?

Or to address you in a respectful manner?

Asking for myself!

Men think they can speak to women however they want

Without asking us how we want to be spoken to

Then get mad when we ask them to come correct

You don’t get to sexually harass me and think I’m not going to come for your head

Nah, bruh...you can go somewhere with that

“Awww, you can’t take a compliment sexy?”

What are you not getting?

Last time I checked sir

My name is very operable and quite easy to say

I have fought too long and too hard so that I may be seen for more than just my beauty

I have made myself aware of many disciplines

Genetics, astronomy, sociology, calculus, psychology, criminal justice...

Trust me

I am a master of none

But I can hold my own in an intellectual conversation

So when I ask you not to call me gorgeous it’s not because I can’t take a compliment

But you getting mad implies that you can’t follow instructions from a strong independent female
