Flesh and Soul

Darkness

Blinding light.

Fingers beaten by clicks.

Words remembered, words forgotten.

Emotions surging like the tide.

Throttled laughs and cries.

Rush of blood,

Upon sensitive cheeks,

Once pale and ill.

Chills within the heart,

Unable to breathe.

Only scream.

To the dying sun.

Into the rebirth of the night,

Of the vampire’s cloak.

Awake and immortal.

Isolated in a castle.

Of hideous memories and the rose of a beast.

A forbidden flower.

Coming of the sun.

So vulnerable, so cruel.

Frozen by Medusa.

Only a single choice.

Destroy the body for an impossible union of souls…

Flesh is a prison, yet salvation.

Something beyond the Heavens.

A permanent promise.

Fingers dig deep into palms,

Lights are eliminated.

Only darkness to comfort a lonely soul.
