First Meeting

...for Carole

By ᔕᗩᗰ ᕼᗩᖇTYPublished 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

She smiles nervously.

I smile back.

A calm type of smile

that says I won't attack.

She so demure

I think I see a blush

I smile again

wider this time

she's looking a little flushed.

I ask her would she like something

she says just a coke please

I try to break the tension

with a little joke to put her at ease.

I put on my crown

Burger King still has them

if you ask.

See! I'm not so big and scary

Her eyes light up when she laughs

Somewhere in between the crown

and my imitation of Betty White

our eyes lock, hers are so beautiful

this is starting to feel very right.

We're laughing now and talking,

she casually puts her hands on mine.

I'll never forget the night I met her

we had a real good time.
