Finding You

I had heard stories of love at first sight

Had longed and waited for it to find me

But day turned to dusk and dusk to twilight

Still, you didn’t come, oh where could you be?

I begged God to send me my one true love

Be he large or small, I cared not a wit

I long to be held, Oh Lord up above

By someone special with whom I would fit

My prayers went unanswered, or so I thought

And I dreamt of other things to attain

But nothing quite filled me up as it ought

And then you appeared and set me aflame

‘Twas you, I had waited for all my life

And now at long last, I will be your wife
