Fears

Free Verse Poem

By Kristen HavemanPublished about a year ago 1 min read
By Me and Midjourney

I'm afraid of the dark,

When the night gets quiet.

I'm afraid of the drop,

When the peak is reached.

I worry about wealth,

Taxes and debts.

I run from the death,

That dogs my feet.

Scenarios play,

On loop in my head.

Strings of phobias.

Beads of dread.

Strong men falter,

With fewer fears.

I stumble forward,

My heart pounds on.

My biggest worry,

A life unlived.
