Fear

You feel it?

By Andrew DominguezPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

Fear

No, not the movie.

But this is also about someone luny.

Feel it?

It’s there.

Feel it.

Looking into the mirror.

That sense of wither.

It gives me the jitters.

The wrinkle.

My existence has a ripple.

No longer are they looking at those dimples.

Fear.

It sinks in.

They ask about my next of kin.

An answer, “not yet…” They act like it’s a sin.

Fear.

A career.

Something to hold dear.

Instead, I drink a beer.

Nothing wrong with a little cheer.

Though I feel it, when they leer.

I do it too.

I look at them, and see their unspoken, “boo.”

It’s there.

I stare.

They’re bare.

They snare.

Fear.

I’m home.

Alone.

My own Rome.

No one to hear me moan.

Fear.

Too feel anything else, just a tad bit.

This is it.

It never gets old.

Not one body to hold.

Except for my own.

It’s been set in stone.

Until I fade away, on top of coal.

Fear.
