Introduction

Most of my writing is inspired by my Muse. We share a love of many things, nature, birdsong, cats, and all mythology. Many of my poems are about the loves we share and many are directly for her.

I have collected fifty poems in my first anthology for her, and there is another being prepared, but sometimes it is nice to just be able to read your favorites on Vocal, and that is why I have put this list of twenty of her favorite poems together with some notes about the poem where I can fill in a little extra.

The music is one of her high school favorites and one I used to play, "Good Riddance" by Green Day showing that she also has excellent taste in music as well as poetry. It is also a song who's title does not reflect the pure beauty of the song

Volume One:

My first ever Top Story inspired my Muse and features, in my opinion, a song with the most beautiful acoustic intro that I have ever heard. If you search my stories in Beat you will find my tribute to Nic Jones which he loves.

Many of my poems occur after we have been talking, and my Muse loves b being involved in the creation of the poems, suggesting, titles and subjects and edits as well. She is a wonderful poet herself as well.

An early piece where I was still learning, but I and my Muse love this sonnet and people who come to it for the first time also become enamoured with it.

This is another early one, My Muse asked if I was referring to her skin, which is beautiful, but this was just an overall concept of beauty that she fits.

This is a poem about missing someone even when you are not alone, and I do miss my Muse when I am not with her. She is very touched by this.

This is one about how I am inspired by my Muse, although it can apply to anyone who is inspired by a Muse or something else.

This is self-explanatory, and one of my longer poems, therefore there is no defined format, just a series of quatrains with a final line to complete the number of words.

This one took things a step further and was awarded a Vocal Top Story. My Muse loves this one as did many of my audience.

This was inspired by a chainsaw carving in Pannett Park in Whitby and it made me think of my Muse. She loved it so much that she chose it as the title for my first anthology for her.

This is not about love or inspiration, but my Muse and I are both fans of Edgar Allen Poe. I am very proud of my attemt to reconstruct "The Raven" and my Muse loves this as well.

This is a phrase I use a lot in relation to my Muse, because I am very proud of everything she does and how she does things.

For this, I took the concept of the dream sea from Clive Barker who probably took it from someone else, and my Muse and many others fell in love with it.

My Muse loves Sunflowers so this was another that she had more than a little input to. She loves this one as well.

This will be the lead poem in the next anthology for my Muse.

I will close Volume One with this Butterfly Cinquain, and you do get to hear me sing on this one, twice, covering two Neil Young songs.

These are fifteen poems loved by my Muse, and I hope that you enjoy them too.
