mother

i am piece of you,

cloth trying to dye itself another color

caged bird trying to break free

black swan or white

never knowing which i am

we circle each other

like sun and moon

eclipses our understanding

while the rest of the time we are

Jormungandr constricting each other’s Earth

battling our demons as we wear

each other’s face

the sea has died and risen again in us

echoes upset at the voice for sounding the same

but always calling back anyways

pendulums in the valley between us

Excellent work, R.C.! I could feel the hints of frustration grow, twist and turn into acceptance for what it is. Well done!
