A Poem

We all live in a fantasy

Made up realities that we believe

Long gone are the ways we thought it would be

Childhood dreams drowned in a sea of bitter reality

A future etched in sand

Living with a dead hand

Dangling above us

They say they love us

But plot to destroy

The happiness and joy

Fleeting moments of freedom slipping from our hands

For a plan

A plan they have inoculated themselves against

Because when you rule

There is no fence
