They stopped the war that would set you free
when won, almost guaranteed,
there will not be tens of thousands underground.
They laid down their arms
so that you could destroy yours.
They shrugged
and walked away.
They no longer fight for you
as you will not fight for yourself.
The messenger came with tales of
torture, despair, illness, thievery and death.
You shot the messenger.
Her huge armies follow her into Hell.
Strong and deceitful, She will dance with you; seduce you..
She is victorious.
She is not YOUR heroine.
Just an evil homonym.

A Digital Pandemic.
After a long day in the department, Emily dropped her worn and tired dark leather bag on the counter before navigating through the small and disordered kitchen to grab a cold beer from a contrarily empty fridge. She hadn't had a chance to unpack since moving from Newcastle to Glasgow, let alone shop for sustenance, except for cold brews naturally.
