It hurts so bad,
I want it to end,
But I was taught to endure till the end!
Does it matter who’s at fault?
When I’m expected to be patient!
“Darling, be the one who sacrifice,
For it’s you, who was destined to suffice”
“You should love with all your heart”,
And forgive when he breaks that very heart!
“You have another reason to endure”,
As if the enfant asked for such painful cure!
Who’s happy with this endurance?
As I stand in front of the broken dreams I cherished, once!
What if I choose to chime?!
What if I wish to smile for real this time?!

The rough, sodden rope bit into her fingers as she swung over the roiling water far below. Reaching out with the toe of her boot, she managed to catch hold of the rain-soaked railing of the ship- and promptly slipped. Throwing herself forward, she landed hard on the deck, slamming her elbows against the wood planks. The sharp yelp of pain quickly bubbled into a laugh, and she rolled onto her back, laughing up at the gray sky as a torrent of rain washed away the soot covering her skin.
