Embrace It

the Darkness

Embrace it...the Darkness.

Let it in,

Let it win,

Let it engulf you.

Carry it like a shield,

Wrap it around you like a cloak in winter.

Let it dye your hair,

Let it blacken your eyelids.

Accept this part of you.

Take joy in it,

Revel in it,

Own it,

And it will never hurt you again.

When people try to use it against you

Call on it to protect you.

That which you own and praise can never,

Never

Hurt you again.

But it can hurt others,

If YOU let it.

What will you do?

The same as others before you?

Or will you fasten your Darkness about you,

Pick up your shield,

And defend those like you,

Yet not quite like you?

Will you answer the call

Of the Darkness to defend all

Those that are in need

Of a little extra time to transform into that final breed?

About the Creator

Amanda Lyons

Eclectic stream of consciousness and dark surrealism. What photography does for life I do for thought, emotions, and experiences. The genres can range from romance to horror but my favorite is suspense.
