Button pushed

Waiting impatiently

For the doors to open

Green arrow flashes

Bell chimes

Doors part

Eyes glare at me

Silently screaming

Don't you dare

Enter here

Doors close

Before I can react

Press the button

Once again

Waiting impatiently

Until the doors

Bang & rattle

Sliding open

Only to hear

A frantic voice

Call out

"Shut the door!"

"Shut the door!"

Oh! The joys of traveling in New York. In the morning, we just needed coffee, then this happened. Crowded elevators. Passengers crammed in. No one wants to make room. I don't blame them. If it were me, would I do the same? Probably!

Thanks for readying my poems. Please check out my other poems and short stories. It will mean the world to me. ~ KAS
