Elemental Well
This is a spiritual poem based round a temple being forgotten and once again reclaimed by mother earth.
Down the spiralling staircase I walk, each step a reminder of more elegant times but this staircase is hidden within moss and vines as each step has come a slippery hazard while this structure of elegance is forgotten within the mists of a forbidden forest, cocoon within this haunting view were only the bravest may step, this place of bricks and mortar held together lock in this moment of forgotten values, void of any try modern elements and yet it holds so much mystery of the past.
The earthy mossy scent that punctures my lungs with each step I continue to take down this curling staircase, each step alone seems to becoming more slippery than the last, water has flooded lower the stairway having trickled down the stairway like a small waterfall, washing over the steps follow the path I too follow trying to find the lower centre spot of this forgotten temple.
At last I may sigh a breath of relief for I too have reach the ground and oh how my feet are soaked of the rain water that as consumed the tiled ground that once showed a compass of elemental harmony, it is now lost to water overflowing with debris of the forest and natural elements.
This central space now a pool with mossy, root covered stone walls, I must retreat, I need to flee before my soul becomes lost within this truly forgotten temple that is slowly being collected back from the elements of nature.
