Encroaching darkness disrupts afternoon’s

Celebration as the moon’s shadow plays across

Landscapes decimated. Dancing corpses and grinning buffoons

Invade, soaring beside the albatross of sacred life’s loss.

Profanely pretending all the while to be saddened by the “significant cost”,

Second dawn chases fleeting dominance; Peaceful evening breaks as

Exhausted bellies cry out twice in one day for breakfast.
