Finding Home

Home is multi-dimensional,

Not bound by walls or borders,

The location is intentional

Built with love and care.

*

Finding home defeats direction,

East o' the sun - west o' the moon,

Navigating by the heart's connection

Suddenly you know you're there.

*

I thought I'd found it for a season,

Found a house, though, not a home.

Couldn't puzzle out the reason

Sorrow to wisdom, hard to bear.

*

Home depends not on relation,

Not on blood, or body's bone.

It appears with appreciation

Spirit easy in the soul you wear.

*

Some may never feel the rebuff

Never know the pain of 'go'.

Content with pieces, jagged, rough,

Silent resentment, muttered prayer.

*

Once finding home already in me,

No need to hunt, seek, or roam,

Ready, then, and open to see

Home is heart that we can share.

This is beautiful, as so well said. Home has nothing to do with bricks and mortar. it is, as they say, where the heart is. Well done.
