Dusk and Dawn

12/17/08

Every day has its dusk.

Every night, its dawn.

But where will you be,

When it’s all said and done?

Will you be victorious?

Or will you have failed?

Who can say what will happen

Except for the one who makes it so?

In the world so delightfully cruel,

Among those with power who rule,

Will you hold your own?

Or will you break down?

I’ve come this far.

I’ve made my way.

Yet why am I unable

To keep going?

It’s such a torment,

This torrent of emotions around me.

I’ve stood for so long,

But now I fall.

My day had its dusk

A long time ago.

And my dawn is ever closer

As my night goes on.
