Tethered by lines
From an invisible world
A screen flashing
Images unclear-
Hands constantly aloft
Another bone
Purchased because
What would we do
Without it
Watching bars
Rise and fall
Angst following
Reverse flow-
Trying to remember
A time when
Fingers didn’t clutch
Cool metal
And numbers were kept
Within mental filing
Called upon when needed
Not flashing in front
With twisting words-
Dates easily recollected
Behind mind’s eye
As we held
Thin photos in our hands-
The physical reminder
Of a world beyond
Where sun is real
And not a glare
On a screen,
And trees reach forth
Doing their best
To break down the bars
We senselessly crave.

Another fine example of taking the mundane and turning it into something to ponder. Another fine example of your personal awareness in this world of technology.
