Don’t Paint Me with that Brush.

Don’t smother my colour.

Please don’t paint me with that brush,

The colours are all wrong,

Instead of a great symphony,

You’ve made me just a song.

-

Please don’t paint me with that brush,

It’s such an ugly hue,

I’d rather be a rose petal,

Adorned with morning dew.

-

Please don’t paint me with that brush,

My exterior might be hard,

But that’s not who I truly am,

Your vision is just marred.

-

Please don’t paint me with that brush,

The one that’s black as night,

I’m getting too exhausted,

To keep putting up this fight.

-

Please don’t paint me with that brush,

Go choose a lighter shade,

Something far more fitting,

Soft, like pink lemonade.

-

If you paint me with that brush,

There’ll be no coming back,

You’ll smother all my colour,

Beneath that shade of black.
