Deprivation diets do damage

Duplicitous dietitians derive dividends

Devour dessert

*************

This poem was inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow’s now infamous interview where she lists her typical diet consisting of coffee for breakfast, bone broth for lunch, Paleo dinner, and of course, an IV of Glutathione or phosphatidylcholine. The wellness and lifestyle brand mogul faces criticism for promoting disordered eating. You can watch clips from the interview here.

That just about sums up my feelings about the so-called nutrition industry, Leslie. I'm glad I'm not alone in that line of thought. Another thought-provoking tautogram by you. Amazing! 🤗

I thought your poem "Divine Dining" was very interesting and well-written. Your use of language and visuals effectively conveyed the peril of dietary dogma. Your poem is a gentle reminder to think critically about the sources of information we take in, so that we can make decisions that are good for our bodies and our minds.

Wow! I don’t know when she gave that interview… I don’t read, watch, or listen to the news, or keep up with celebs. But yesterday I started “hearing” a limerick in my head about a starlet who has all the money in the world and still eats as if she were impoverished. I hadn’t written it down yet. Don’t know if I will. I like what you did here.
