Discovery
3/17/12
A whole new place
A new one to explore
Not a new race
Rather the same as before
Been here all along
Yet this is new to me
A damning tune, sad little song
I sang out on the sea
But now, a discovery
A new world to know
Not for you, rather me
Through sun, rain and snow
Where once the weather
Withered me down
I stand up, whether
I smile or frown
For it will change sometime soon
Or not, could be a while
But I will not swoon
Over every tear of a crocodile
There are times to fear
There are times to be brave
But do not sneer
Instead behave
It’s not about wrong or right
But when you sleep
Do not fight
Nor weep
But rather, know the truth
Know that a lie is the launch
Of the end of yourself, your worth,
A wound you cannot staunch
Discover yourself
You’re a trophy for the world to see
Don’t place it on a shelf
Don’t hide or embellish, just be
About the Creator
