Desmond: A Diamond , in the Rough, is This Girls’ Best friend:
Narrative Poem
My April showers, left me emotionally drained...
I,
did not have all the answers
with past lovers,
I lack luster.
My heart a ember,
Charred
Dowsed in water
Turning to a coal
Felt like carbon-monoxide poisoning.
Each May flower, brought me to you.
A promise of spring,
and rebirth of my broken heart.
I,
met desmond, a stubborn man—
who reminded me, under pressure
CARBON
can will a diamond
He spoke candidly, “Your heart is on the mend, do not despair!”
With you, I glow differently.
Smoke doesn’t coat my lungs.
Being with you,
allows my anxious heart to take a breather!
A diamond, in the rough, is this girls’
best friend.
Every glance he gives me,
his pupils dilate, like large rounded black diamonds.
He makes me a plate,
of carbohydrates, bringing it to me in bed.
His compassionate heart,
worth millions!
As rare as red diamonds,
from there, the impossible, felt right!
Each holding onto the promise,
of a better tomorrow.
My tummy expands,
like a carbonated beverage,
as we anticipate the arrival of our first child together, Avril.
Our love story, carbon dates
back to the moment we met!
