Demons

A Poem

Every time I fight off my demons,

They become a little less

Yet they still come back

So I must confess; I’m not good at fighting these demons - I thought I was

Catching me off guard,

They know my weaknesses,

Showing up at times not helpful to me;

Trying hard to pull me beneath

My demons are after me,

I’m starting to feel heavy,

In ways, it makes it hard to sleep

Fearful they will take me,

Fiery chains dragging me to the end

Still, I fight these demons,

They’re becoming less,

But that doesn’t mean they won’t visit again
