A Poem By Karen J. Imas

tumble rumble,

rumble fumble,

toes almost waking up,

eyes stretch open with legs extending outward,

onward and upward,

forward and backward,

crumbling fears

dissolve in my morning

cup of joe,

erratic and ecstatic,

bombastic and elastic,

rhymes with no meaning,

I am here,

my consciousness wants to have coffee

with my ego,

jumping into the day

as a kangaroo jumps away from his predator,

lively drumbeats knock around my cerebral walls,

“Hello in there!”,

“Time to get ‘oughta bed!”,

serve up the day’s delights,

be quick,

be efficient in your maneuvers,

be true,

a bastion of paranoia imprisoning my peace.
