If I weren't afraid of the ocean I would surf...I think.

Oh, if I could swim instead of float on my back...

I'm so uncoordinated.

Like a fish out of water: that's me in the water.

I need to feel the sand under my feet.

When a wave comes along I float with it, as soon as it passes, my feet need to touch the ground.

I was engulfed by a wave once...

didn't know which way to go.

It was all a blur of surf and sand and air bubbles.

Someone saw me and pulled me out,

I was seven.

I'm there again... but this time, it's my life that has swallowed me whole.
