Dear Darling,

There are a few things I want to share.

A few things you need to know.

So you can be sure things are going to be okay.

That things will be beautiful.

So listen up sweetie.

Your fear.

It will one day become your greatest gift.

I know confusion clouds the clarity that can accompany pain right now.

I know you are grieving the world-

The life-

The childhood that allowed you to be a kid-

To believe in love and magic-

To defend Santa and the Tooth Fairy.

I know you may have just been hurt and experienced something you wish to never feel again-

And I know this may be hard and scary-

But in the coming years-

You are going to go through some harder times.

You are going to be hurt, used and brought to your knees in utter agony.

And it's going to be painful.

You are going to want to give up.

Oh,

but sweet girl-

You are a firecracker.

And you may ask how?

So let me explain.

You know your spark that can ignite explosions?

Well-

It means at any moment, you can illuminate a dark night with a sky full of twinkling lights.

For you have stars in your eyes and fires in your soul.

And your strength?

It resides in your resilience.

For every time you pick yourself up-

You do it on your own.

But one piece of advice-

Be open-

Allow those who love you to help set up the external environment so you can journey into your internal canvas.

Because darling,

This life is full of magic.

We will experience the harshest of people,

But they are still good.

And those wishes you hold?

Those beautiful wishes.

They will come true if you wish hard enough-

So keep wishing.

The marvel and awe of this world attaches to your heart in the most innocent, fluid and wondrous manner.

The way you experience moments is unlike that of others.

And I am still learning how to harness that-

But sweet girl,

Our experiences.

Our story.

Our testimony.

We find purpose in it.

We become a listening ear to those who feel unheard,

We help those along the way.

So keep your head up-

Because we are on this roller-coaster.

And I don't have all the answers,

But I know one thing.

We are going to build something big.

To leave a mark on this world showing that people are good.

So keep fighting.

Keep smiling.

Keep laughing.

And I'll keep learning from that pure, playful and innocent heart-

The one that guides my decisions not from that of fear.

But from a place of love.
