we wake up before the morning comes and I start telling you about dinner like it’s six in the evening

Charlie & Allan by Real-Skel

The dishes were supposed to be put away

You served me tea in a beer glass

The severe light of morning climbed into our mouths making us say things that the sunshine says to the sky

Then night starts early

Like morning didn’t come

And you’re here in my arms, so safe in my arms, you know I’d never let anyone ever fucking hurt you don’t you? You must know that

Charlie and Allan by Real-Skel

You made me dinner when the morning came

I ate dessert at 3am after work slammed my subconscious into highway roadkill

With you, breakfast came late

With kisses lined up like multiple espresso shots

The dishes weren’t put away correctly

I find your presence is a prescription to my emotional debt

But why did you move my furniture around?

It’s morning time, wake up, wake up, I’ll kiss you until you feel like a real person again in my arms

Good night, good night, we will promise to wake up early to rearrange the furniture

Rearrange our future

Clean up your shit, you tell me

I tell you, you already have

Dreams come early like a buzzing of hot-summer-heavy lightning bugs that slither through the thick air

Buttery, you kiss my sweat and tears away like paint brushes paint the sky

In the night, I feel like a part of the dark blue world

Pitch Perfect Blue against the light that you bring forth like a star, so fucking luminous,

But did we buy enough groceries for the week?

Good night, again, I won’t let you leave my arms

The sunlight starts winking at us in bed

“I’ll help you make breakfast.”

But, first dinner.
