... Daddy ...

... I miss you...

By Christian BassPublished 3 months ago 1 min read
(03-11-1949 to 04-12-2004 - his parents died in 2002)

His absence weighs upon my heavy heart,

Memories dance in shadows of the past,

I seek his guidance, though we're torn apart,

In every echo of a love that lasts.

.

Memories dance in shadows of the past,

A bond unbroken by the hands of time,

In every echo of a love that lasts,

His spirit lingers, eternally sublime.

.

A bond unbroken by the hands of time,

Though tears may fall like rain upon my face,

His spirit lingers, eternally sublime,

In dreams, his laughter fills the empty space.

.

Though tears may fall like rain upon my face,

I seek his guidance, though we're torn apart,

In dreams, his laughter fills the empty space,

His absence weighs upon my heavy heart!

.

Daddy, there's no day that I miss you!

I felt powerful emotions while reading your poem. It is hard for anyone who loses a parent, and your poem represents love and loss in a very descriptive way.

  • Oh, me too. What a wonderful expression of love and loss
