** Disclaimer: Some of the poetry in this series may contain references to self-harm and suicide as well as strong language. All work is written by me from 2009-2012, ages 15-18. Some can be found in my book, Memories of a Troubled Teen by Paige Guffey, available on Amazon. **

***These are written before I had an official and accurate diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar 2. These are representative of my life, thoughts, and feelings during this time. ***

Don’t look at me

And think that I’m insane.

Don’t look away and

Wonder who’s to blame.

I know what you’re thinking,

I know what you say.

Do you honestly think,

That I like being this way?

Don’t judge before you see,

Don’t speak before you hear.

There’s a reason for everything,

There’s always a reason why.

I know you see these cuts,

I know you think that I need help.

But who can help?

No one wants to listen,

No one wants to hear,

No one wants to see.

So I go on with my life,

Carrying this pain I bear.
