A poem about letting it out

When you are sad,

Angry or hurt,

Unloved or depressed,

Go ahead.

Let it out.

Kick and scream,

Curse and flee.

When family

Dies,

When lovers

Leave,

When friends

Betray

Be torn.

Be broken.

Fall apart.

And run.

Let all your pain

Loose and wild.

Pout and shake.

Rage and lament.

Feel as though

You could have done something,

Anything

Though you know

There was nothing

To be done.

Let your eyes get glassy.

Let your tears flow freely.

Let your nose run grossly.

And when you truly feel

You've lost it all,

Cry.

Rachel Prett

I'm a poet and a fiction writer. I can write quite decent essays, but I'd rather tell stories of the heart and speak with my whole soul.
