Grant me no glory
but to marvel at the majesty of sunrise.
Give me no fortune
but the gift of another day.
The wonders of the deep
I have known from my youth.
The paths of my life
have shown me the earth’s delights.
Sing with me the songs of birds.
Hum with me the river’s tune,
Splendid are the mountains.
Wondrous are the valleys.
Light dawns.
Life blossoms.
A foretaste of the day
when all will be renewed.
