Such relief in removal

Help me to take off

This man-made beauty

Which looks nice for a while

Distracts me from my insecurities

But the discomfort eats me up

Tears me down

Glitter of this false crown

Clouds my eyes and haunts my soul

Only when it’s gone do I feel whole

I am loved both with and without

But even as it’s applied

Hear my aching bones shout out

This is wrong

Stop this mess

What you need is to confess

This impurity beneath

Improper dress

These lies unsheathed

Prevent your best

Become new

Take it off

Leave it to

All those who scoff and scorn

You’ll be reborn

In the light of the coming morn
