Community in Impunity
A poem I came up with during a workshop in Oxford.
Fragmented pieces of peace
The path of consumerism
betrayed us
What we flash is artificial
But we crave to touch
Mother Nature’s delight
And remake it with
paint and footprints
☮️
The canvas is brown
but my eyes see all the hues within
The non-binary shades of purple,
the fluid sticks shaping animals,
flowers and houses
where we all form a
place in the world
🌎
The patterns are nostalgic
and modern
They could blend
in a 60’s music video
And it can been
seen waved out in Oxford Streets.
🖼️
The creative expressive ways
That we protect ourselves
and each other
even when our bodies perish,
our message will live on
through feathered friends,
paw prints and petal drops
