A Story

There was Peace On Earth.

Most of humanity had striven for this, and now it was here.

Since life first appeared on the planet creatures ate to survive, sometimes plants and sometimes other creatures.

Then came humanity who grew to invent and communicate, hunt and domesticate.

Fire gave them warmth, but could scare predators, cook the hunted prey and burn enemies.

At some point religions formed and gods were created to explain the unexplained. If they did not know how, then a god did it.

Every tribe had their own god or gods, and all others were seen as heretical and needed to be taught the true ways.

Eventually, religion gave way to politics and nations saw others as a threat and therefore had to be subjugated, which usually resulted in war and bloodshed, but still, peace was craved by the majority but the power was in the hands of minorities and people followed the party line because they did not want to be seen as out of step with others.

Then politics and nationalism gave way to money. Money became the new God, but it saw that war was good for it and so ensured there was always a war on earth.

Money could not countenance Peace on Earth.

Control was in the hands of fewer and fewer while most of humanity was forced into poverty and servitude.

For some, this was still not enough.

Until now.

There would be no more hunger.

There would be no more fear.

Peace had come.

In the form of a Planetary Bomb, paid for by Money

Humanity was gone.

All animal life was gone.

All that was left were the forests and oceans.

There were no bodies, all had been incinerated, including, somehow, all ocean life.

Whether sentient life would ever return is unknown, but for now there is
