Comfort Ties

Things that comfort me!

It's warm brown eyes,

And my lover's gentle touch;

And our midnight whispers that I love so much.

It's those long conversations between friends of years past,

The giggles and laughter which from memories are cast.

It's the arms of my father that have grown frail,

But are still strong enough to chase the shadows away.

It's the smile of my mother as she finds peace in her age,

It's the front row seats for my favourite band on a stage.

It's the music in my earphones as I jog through the park,

That genuine act of kindness from which good days are sparked.

It's the smell of newborn babies,

Their eyes,their smile,their laugh.

Warm sunshine, good music

And all the memories made with my other half.

A penny for my thoughts is worth it.
