What color am I?
Irish green or Cherokee red?
Italian olive or Polska white?
Emo black or
Generational grey
The secret rainbow I hide inside
Shrouded in stories I rarely tell
Who I’ve touched and
What I’ve seen
Black is the color of my heart
Red the blood inside
Is my spectrum truly indigo
As the New Agers say?
Are my neurodivergent people
The saviors of tomorrow?
Or am I just attuned to clock ticks
And fluid mechanics?
Red is the color of my heart
And black the ink within
As I pen stories of irony
And pain
My true rainbow is clear
And I answer to no name but my own
